Super Over in IPL 2010, IPL Super Over Video, IPLT20 Super Over Rules

KXIP vs CSK: Kings XI Punjab won their first match of IPL 2010 by beating ChennaiSuper  King in Super Over at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

It was the second match in in IPL history that was decided with Super Over, the first one was the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at Cape Town in 2009.

The rules of the Super Over are as in the ICC Standard Twenty20 International Match Playing Conditions.

Before the Super Over, each team nominates three batsmen and a bowler. The team that scores the most runs in their Super Over is the winner of the match. If still tied then the following are taken into consideration.

1. If equal, the team with most number of boundary sixes throughout the entire match wins
2. If still equal, the team with most number of boundaries throughout the entire match wins
3. If still equal, the team taking the most wickets throughout the entire match wins
4. If still equal, a count-back from the final ball of the Super Over eliminator shall be conducted. The team with the higher scoring delivery shall be the winner.
5. If still equal, by coin toss.
