Big screens, DJs, funky food to set mood for IPL final

Restaurants to offer discounts, free services

Pune may not have made it to the IPL finals, but that hasn’t dampened the spirits of residents for the final encounter of the fourth edition of the tournament. Restaurants and pubs have made special arrangements- big screens, cheerleaders, discounts- to woo fans.

At Arc Asia in ABC Farms, Kingfisher cheerleaders will accompany visitors. A DJ and live commentary on the match, which will be shown on a 15 X 15 ft screen, and IPL quizzes have been arranged. “We will get two cheerleaders for the day and will have a person delivering funny ball-by-ball commentary. Depending on how the match unfolds, we may bring in other offers,” said Imran Inamdar, manager of Arc Asia.

Koregaon Park’s Oakwood Premier Hotel will use the occasion to raise funds for India at 2047, an NGO that works for underprivileged children. “The invitees at the parties will be served complimentary starters. The match will be shown on a big screen in hotel lawns. We will put up a drop box at the venue in support of the NGO. There will be a DJ too,” said event coordinator Pranay.
