Ind 238, India vs England World Cup 2011 live cricket score highlights. Tailenders failed, otherwise score would have been in excess of 350 runs

Bangalore: Indian cricket team came up with a scintillating batting performance. The good show started from the word go when Sehwag went on fire beating bowlers one by one. Then came Gambhir who took the mantle from him and played a good shots.

But it was little master Sachin Tendulkar who was at his destructive best, first making sure that he was well settled and knew the nerves of the bowlers and then went on to play a memorable inning of 120 runs, his second hundred against England in the World Cup.

He showed all the bowlers their place and hit them four and sixes with disdain. He hit five huge sixes and ten fours and after facing 115 runs he scored 120 runs.

Yuvraj and Gambhir too hit half centuries and they scored 58 and 51 runs respectively.

Meanwhile English bowlers bowled very poor line and length Anderson in his nine overs gave 82 runs while yardy gave 64 run and took one wicket.

Bresnan was the best performer with the ball today taking five wickets and gave away as little as 48 runs.

India meanwhile was all out for 338 runs in its 50 over quota.

India is the favorite as it will be aiming to regain the title once more time. The last time India had won the trophy was in 1983. Since then India had been trying hard to win the trophy but with no success. It is understood that this time India has a good team with combination of youth and experience. India landed at the World Cup on positive notes by beating co-hosts Bangladesh by 87 runs. The opener in Dhaka was a treat to watch. Swashbuckling Virender Sehwag was at the centre of attraction. He managed to score a scintillating hundred. The top order fired well with Virat Kohli also making life difficult for Bangladeshi bowlers.

Master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar looked in excellent touch. Now as the match readies to unfold on Sunday all eyes will be on Tendulkar. Besides, Irfan Pathan is also at the centre of attraction. Fans still remember his terrific century in South Africa when he single handedly managed to maul SA. This time also a lot is being expected from him.

Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri said: "Victory against England will make it two-out-of-two and we would be almost certain to make it to the quarterfinals. You can play freely. So the next match is very important to get a win on the board."
